Integrating technology into the classroom: activities 2011
This wiki was set up in 2007 and if you want to see the type of things we were doing online then go to the original Activities page.
In the meantime, however, things have moved on so look at the activities below: Do the two activities and then asnwer the questions:
You can write your comments directly onto the wiki by clicking on "Modifica" and simply typing.
Use a different colour from the original to differentiate between text and comments;
Remember to save your work when you have done it.
Activity One
Interactive Dictation Lesson You will hear sections of the story: The Unicorn. Watch the video and pause it after each instruction. Then you can post your comment. Do the activity and then decide:
What type of class would you use this with? What sort of language would the learners be using?
Would you use this in the classroom or would you use it for self access work?
What woud the next step be after the learners recorded their comments? (Write your answers below, but please use a different colour so that we can see where one comment finishes and another begins)
Activity Two
Look at this exercise which was made with Hot Potatoes: software you can download freely from the Halfbaked site:
This was a tailor made exercise for one of my classes: Decide:
What the level of this class was;
what they had been working on before they did this;
whether you could use it in in class, in a self access centre, online or all of these. Now look at the desktop of the computer you are working on (if you are in the Cambridge School). You can now make an exercise of your own with Hot Potatoes that you could use in one of your TP lessons. (If you are not in the Cambridge School you can download this software free on your own computer.) Save it on the desktop when you have finished.
